PMT45000 Series HV Power Loss Measurment Systems
The PMT45000 series of three phase metering systems are designed for the accurate measurement of rms and average voltage,
current and power in a single phase or three phase test circuit.
The PMT45000 design represents a `next generation' automatic measurement system that effectively improves measurement accuracy
and functionality in comparison to existing products presently offered in the market. As such, the system offers significant
benefits with respect to accurate low power factor loss measurements over a wide dynamic range, as well as enhanced productivity
through automatic data collection and reporting.
The measurement equipment is comprised of an electronics rack encompassing several instruments including potential divider,
current divider and power reference standard. The electronic rack is designed to interface with new high voltage sensors from
Power Measurement Technologies Inc. or existing sensors from Olman / Multi-Amp Canada.
An integral host computer provides a direct, intuitive operator interface based upon the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
The 'HVMS Assist' application provides a virtual instrument operator interface to display the various measurements, effect
system control functions, storage of test records, printing of test reports and connection to a local area network as required.
The system is configured to allow convenient calibration that complies with NIST (NBS) Technical Note 1204, "Calibration of Test
Systems for Measuring Power Losses of Transformers".
For high accuracy measurements in single phase circuits, the system requires one of the leads to be at, or near, ground
potential.
The system is suitable for making measurements on power transformers, motors and other power equipment.
